The Clara B. Farlow Foundation for Children of Surry County provides financial assistance and support to families who have children under the age of 18 with serious physical and mental challenges and/or illnesses.

The Foundation’s namesake, Clara Barton Farlow, was a dedicated and caring educator from the community of Guilford College, North Carolina, who embarked on a mission to write letters to former students and others while they were serving in World War II. By the end of the war, and for years afterward, she was still writing letters to those who had not returned home.
